CITATION BUILDING

How Long Does Citation Building Take?

Understand the difference between submission time, verification time, approval time, and the time needed to complete a full citation project.

Submission is only one step

A listing can be submitted quickly but still require email, phone, postcard, or platform verification. Some directories moderate new profiles before they become public.

Project duration depends on scale

A small set of major listings may be completed quickly; a multi-directory campaign takes longer because each destination has its own forms, validation, and approval process.

Track status separately

Record submitted, pending verification, pending review, live, duplicate found, and correction requested as separate statuses. This prevents a “submitted” report from being mistaken for a list of already-live profiles.
