FIX CITATIONS

How to Audit Your Local Citations

Find inaccurate, duplicate, missing, and inconsistent business listings before you create more citations.

What an audit should answer

Which important listings exist? Which ones contain wrong data? Are there duplicates? Is an old address still live? Which directories matter to competitors but are missing from your footprint?

Build an audit sheet

Track the directory, listing URL, displayed name, address, phone, website, claim status, login status, correction needed, and last checked date. This becomes the operating record for cleanup and new submissions.

Prioritize by impact

Start with platforms customers actually use, maps/search ecosystems, industry directories, strong local directories, and listings with materially wrong contact information. Lower-value inconsistencies can come later.
