FIX CITATIONS

How to Track Local Citations

Create a simple citation tracking system for listing URLs, credentials, verification status, corrections, and follow-up dates.

Minimum tracking fields

Track the platform, listing URL, status, login email, username, verification requirement, submitted date, last checked date, displayed NAP, and notes.

For agencies

Keep client credentials isolated, record which listings are owned by the client, and preserve a handoff-ready report. Do not rely on one employee’s personal inbox for verification emails.

Monitor changes intentionally

You do not need to obsessively recheck every small directory. Prioritize business-critical platforms, recent corrections, and listings that historically revert or duplicate.
